A strong front running display landed the Beef Week Cup for trainer Cary Grant at Casino yesterday. Minnie Jayda jumped quickly from the outside box managing to avoid the scrimmaging closer to the rails and led clearly around the corner. Mincin’ Machine cleared the pack and made a bold charge for the prize but Minnie Jayda held him out by 1.25 lengths in 27.77sec. Swift Phantom trained by Marilyn  Swift filled the minors.

Congratulations to Cary Grant from Chinderah on his training achievement and Minnie Jayda who added $4,000.00 to the kitty. Cary also received a gold cup and a bag of Track & Train kibble for winning one of Casino Greyhound Clubs feature races.

Earlier in the program Stonebrook trained by Pat Lavis covered the 411 distance in 23.49 (BON) winning by 5.5 lengths with Celtic Coleen and White Pony filling the minor placings.

On Wednesday at Grafton the Sonia Kempshall trained Slick Jappa skipped over the 407 mt distance in 23.27 (BON). All but bad luck will prevent Sonia from being trainer of the year at Grafton and Slick Jappa taking out dog of the year.
